Green Hills Software Announces Trusted Mobile Device Partnership With Samsung Electronics
Awarded Samsung Enterprise Alliance Program (SEAP) Membership
SANTA BARBARA, CA, Jun 25, 2013 (Marketwired via COMTEX) -- Green Hills Software, the largest independent vendor of secure embedded and mobile virtualization solutions, today announced its enhanced partnership with Samsung Electronics for the deployment of Green Hills Software's INTEGRITY Multivisor for Trusted Mobile Devices technology. As a member of the Samsung Enterprise Alliance Program (SEAP), Green Hills Software has ported its mobile virtualization technology to Samsung GALAXY devices, including the popular Samsung GALAXY Note II. The INTEGRITY Multivisor technology adds a foundational layer of data protection and isolation below the mobile operating system and enables a secure, dual-persona BYOD solution that cannot be achieved with application-level sandbox mechanisms.
Green Hills Software and Samsung have been working together to enable Samsung mobile devices with Green Hills Software's separation kernel-based Type-1 hypervisor. The INTEGRITY Multivisor solution for enterprise and government enables mobile device users and administrators to take advantage of off-the-shelf mobile phones and tablets for both personal and business use, with both parties having complete confidence in security and privacy. Shipping since 2003, the INTEGRITY Multivisor technology is the only virtualization solution built upon security-certified separation kernel technology that provides highly assured isolation between personas while also providing a native, open standards-based execution environment for security-critical tasks.
"Strategic partnerships with market leaders such as Green Hills are a key part of our B2B strategy, and we believe that together we bring a strong solution to entities requiring a super-secure level of data protection," said Jae Shin, vice president of Enterprise Business Team, IT & Mobile at Samsung.
Key capabilities of the INTEGRITY Multivisor for Samsung Mobile Devices solution include:

"For more than 15 years, Green Hills Software's INTEGRITY technology has been running the world's most critical digital systems, from the 787 Dreamliner flight controls to medical equipment and automotive electronics," said Gordon Jones, vice president of Green Hills Software's Embedded Virtualization Business Unit. "Building INTEGRITY Multivisor technology into Samsung smartphones and tablets dramatically improves the security posture of IT departments who wish to safely leverage the productivity of mobility while enabling consumers to use a single device to manage their work and personal lives with total confidence in privacy and control."
About INTEGRITY Multivisor Technology The INTEGRITY Multivisor solution consists of the certified INTEGRITY real-time separation kernel technology coupled with facilities to execute one or more "guest" operating systems. INTEGRITY Multivisor solution also provides a native, open standards-based environment for critical applications, such as security functionality and fast-boot real-time apps. The INTEGRITY Multivisor solution offers several approaches to virtualization in ARM-powered devices, including paravirtualization, full virtualization with or without hardware hypervisor acceleration. As the digital world grows in complexity, no single operating system suffices. The hypervisor provides the right level of abstraction -- the virtual machine -- for flexibility, scalability, and portability, enabling elegant yet practical solutions to previously intractable computing problems.
Availability The INTEGRITY Multivisor for Samsung Mobile Devices solution is available today for trials with enterprises, governments, and systems integrators.
